This man, my Papá, turns 93 today.
He’s a living example of how to age with grace and vitality.

Exercises every day, has a deep connection with the community, eats & sleeps well and has a deep passion for his hobbies. That’s basically the Blue Zones recipe for healthy aging.

He suffered the loss of his wife, a life-long romance that started before they were 20, that’s a solid marriage. We rallied around him with our many extended trips to Spain to get him through his grief and now he’s thankfully thriving again.

Mother’s Day will never be the same at our house.
Love yours every day, you never know.

Launched by Her Excellency the Right Honourable Mary Simon, Governor General of Canada, the Medal recognizes those who have made significant contributions to Canada and their home province. It was with great respect for your achievements that the Honourable Wendy Cocchia put forth your name for this recognition, with subsequent approval by the Chancellery of Honours in Ottawa.

This Spanish immigrant woman is thrilled to receive a Canadian honour created to mark the Coronation of His Majesty King Charles lll.
